Families living with dementia in the Holt area have benefitted from a magnificent donation of £2000 from Holt & District Rotarians. This grand total was the culmination of a year-long programme of fundraising events by Holt & District Rotary Club, including a successful garden party and 100 miles sponsored bike ride.

Andrew Pearcey, current President of Holt & District Rotarians, Mo Ford, host of the garden party and Dave Wathen, the intrepid bike rider presented the cheque to Claire Roberts, Chair of Holt & District Dementia Support at their regular Poppy dementia café on Tuesday 10th October. Andrew Pearcey explained how many of their members lives have been touched by dementia amongst family or friends and so they had wanted to make a difference to local families facing the devastation of dementia.

Claire Roberts thanked each of the Rotary members present and those that had contributed to the fundraising for their generosity. She explained that this would be a valuable contribution to support both their existing services and their new recent initiatives, a monthly lunch club and a regular exercise session to help those living with dementia to maintain balance and mobility.
