On 9th September the government announced: ‘social gatherings of more than six people in England will not be allowed in law from Monday 14 September. The new rule applies to people in private homes, indoors and outdoors, and places such as pubs, restaurants, cafés and public outdoor spaces.
A full list of exemptions is to be published before the law is changed’.
Following this announcement, a decision was made by the Trustees for Poppy Café to remain open every Tuesday morning: ‘based on the government’s further advice about community centres which indicates that they can continue to operate as long as they are Covid-secure and that within the café, attendees keep in groups of not more than 6 socially distanced individuals’.
Claire, Chair of Holt & District Dementia Support, has advised all those who use our services or volunteer about this latest decision.
The restrictions announced on Tuesday 22nd September have not affected the services indicated above.
